The Academy was founded to activate and promulgate Culture inspired by the Cat.

To this end, it is promoting numerous initiatives of a high cultural level in Italy and abroad, to acclaim the great artists and men of culture of all ages and nationalities, who have in common the love of cats, so that people may come to know and admire their work. The initiatives are also aimed at promoting an understanding of the influence of cats, these extraordinary creatures, in all forms of art, in the religions and the very history of many world cultures and in those civilisations which have had the greatest influence on mankind.

	The main initiatives of the Academy of Magical Cats are: -meetings on the influence of the cat on history, art, religion, mythology, legends and civilisations: symposia and exchanges of opinions with the Fellows of the Academy and visiting speakers from the world of art and science -presentations of the work of Past and Present Fellows of the Academy for the appreciation and diffusion of their creative talent -talks with the young in order to stimulate, strengthen and promote the culture, art and civilisation inspired by the cat -exhibitions of figurative art and photographs of art dedicated to the cat -theatrical and musical representations of cat-loving authors and composers -cinematographic and television presentations which star or co-star the cat -study groups on the cat in history, art and civilisation to strengthen and promote Cat Culture -prize-winning competitions of a literary, artistic and scientific nature on Cat Culture The Academy takes part in national and international initiatives and manifestations aimed at promoting Cat Culture

The academy takes particular care in the organisation of its own presentations, enriching them with exhibitions so rare and exclusive, art and photographic documentation, lectures and theatrical performances accompanied by evocative music of the period. What is offered is a new, attractive and amusing way of gaining knowledge. For this reason, the Academy of Magical Cats has taken for its motto the words of Lorenzo de Medici (Lorenzo the Magnificent), which adorn the Laboratory Garden of San Marco in Florence, which was once the meeting point of the greatest Renaissance artists: “for beauty, for study, for pleasure”.

THE ORGANISATIONAL SERVICE OF THE ACADEMY WILL, AT THE REQUEST OF OUTSIDE AGENCIES, ORGANISE EVENTS, CONFERENCES, SEMINARS, SYMPOSIA AND CULTURAL EXHIBITIONS DEDICATED TO THE CAT, USING STATE-OF-THE-ART AUDIO-VISUAL EQUIPMENT (for information regarding the above, please contact the administrative office of the Academy.)

THIS IS THE ACADEMY’S MOST REPRESENTATIVE AND IMPORTANT MANIFESTATION. IT IS DEDICATED TO THE CAT, CREATIVE MEDIUM OF HUMAN ACTIVITY. Each year, conferences, symposia, shows and exhibitions of an international nature are organised by the Academy. These events are held at various venues throughout Italy and abroad to celebrate the Cat and the Fellows of the Academy of Magical Cats throughout the ages and world.
